Heather Silk

This post has been in my draft for quite a long time, I just didn't get any mood to write the review. Not that I don't like it though, just maybe I've been reviewing too many blushes, lately?
Well then, now I have to stop procrastinating.

Heather Silk is my first ever Wet n Wild blush. It's a matte bright pink blush with purple undertone. It looks muted on the pan, but surprisingly pigmented and kinda scary once swatched. I really have to be light handed and careful on application. But if you really go light handed, this blush gives a nice flush to the cheeks. That's what I love from bright and super pigmented blushes, because they can look really nice and natural when carefuly applied. I find it fun to play with bright blushes :D

To the quality, I must say I'm impressed. The powder is finely milled, it's not dusty nor chalky. The pigmentation is no question, amazing and the staying power is great. The packaging isn't the prettiest, but I could careless, esp for the price.

I super super lightly applied it on my cheeks.

Have you tried Wet n Wild blushes? Do you like it?

Love,
Pam

Shades of Red

I believe every woman will look good in red lips. It only depends on what kind of red suits your skin tone the best. I am a huge fan of red lips, and here I show you my collection of red lipsticks! ( I wanted to include some vampy shades too, but decided not to ).

From left to right :

  • Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple , a sheer red lipstick for day look. It has balmy texture and the color is not too bold so it's really nice if you want a more 'subtle' look.
  • MNY Concrete Rocker #163A , it's also more on the sheer side. The texture is balmy too and feels really comfortable on the lips.It also smells really nice. It leans a bit towards pink once applied .
  • Manhattan Xtreme Last and Shine #54V, a dark almost vampy red lipstick. The texture is creamy and it gives a velvet finish.
  • MAC Ruby Woo, one of the most famous and most loved red lipstick,I believe. It has matte finish  and the shade is perfect , but I find it too drying for my lips
  • Manhattan Lip Cream #45H, one of my favorite red lipstick in terms of finish and color. Too bad it starts to dry my lips after few hours, and it doesn't last long on my lips.
  • Maybelline Moisture Extreme in Antique Rouge, my first ever red lipstick. The texture is creamy and has sheen finish. The color leans more to orange-red.
  • Rimmel Kate Moss #101, a true blue toned red lipstick. I have love-hate relationship with this one because sometimes I feel it's just a perfect red shade but also sometimes I feel that it is too 'blue toned' for my complexion.
  • Rimmel Kate Moss #111, my recent purchase and I love it SO MUCH. It has matte finish but the texture isn't drying at all. It's not as hard as MAC Ruby Woo so the application is easy. The red shade is also the perfect one for my complexion. The staying power is impressiv, the price is affordable. Love!!!

What is your all time favorite red lipstick?

Mini LUSH Haul

Who doesn't love LUSH?? Going to LUSH is for me a really relaxing journey..I just love the smell of the store ( even though I heard a lot of people find it overwhelming ) and I love how ( mostly ) the SAs are friendly and helpful. The idea and concept behind the products are also always interesting. How they don't test on animals, fair trades and nature ingredients make me love the brand even more.

Since I don't have a bath tub in my appartment, I can't buy all those melting bubble baths. Such a shame because I actually really want to try them. T_T
But anyway, I still can buy the shower gels! What I love from LUSH Shower gels are, besides the heavenly good smell, the smell lingers on.

  • Snow Fairy is part of the christmas limited edition. I used up 2 large bottles of it last Christmas and I've been waiting the entire year until it comes back again in christmas limited edition. I loooooooooove the sweet smell of cotton candy because it's just the perfect sweetness, nothing too much. And who can stand the cute pink liquid?
  • It's Raining Men is everyone's favorite. The combination of caramel and honey makes me want to shower 5 times a day. lol
  • I love Juice is my first LUSH shampoo. It's supposed to be good for my oily scalp. It contains the juice from papaya, mango, pineapple and kiwi, smells fresh and fruity which I like. I haven't tried it out because I still have to empty my Rainforest Shampoo from The Body Shop ( which I don't really like ).

  • Each Peach Body Butter Bar is a body butter in bar form that you can rub all over your body after shower. I was kind of skeptical about the bar form, but after I tried it out, I fell in love. The smell is heavenly ( combination of mango butter, avocado, choco and shea butter ) , and it melts easily into the skin, moisturizes and hydrates skin well and doesn't feel sticky or greasy. LOVE!
I was tempted to buy the popcorn lip scrub ( smells super duper hyper heavenly good!! ), the lemony flutter hand creme, the twilight shower gel and so on and so on but then successfully limit myself to things I need the most at the moment . #proudmomma ;P

Do you like LUSH too? What is your favorite??

Pam

Current Drugstore Mini Haul

You all know I have a thing for blushes, yes? and especially when it's limited edition, another yes?
Essence is currently having 2 limited edition at the same time, one is a Breaking Dawn theme and the other is a christmas theme called 'Home Sweet Home'.
Predictably, I took the blush from the Breaking Dawn LE, and unpredictably I left the 2 ( TWO!! ) blushes from the Home Sweet Home LE and took the single eye shadow + nail polish instead.

Happy Couching is a copper brown eye shadow with a sheen finish. It's not really shimmery, nor frosty. The pigmentation is amazing and the texture is so soft and buttery. I find the knit design on the pan is nice and christmassy. Such a nice product I must say.

Renesmee Red is a matte red blush. It looks quite scary on the pan, but actually looks really nice once applied on the cheeks. You only have to keep it light handed. It has matte finish and gives my cheeks a nice natural redish blush. The powder is finely milled and the texture is soft. It stays on my cheeks the whole day. This blush has been receiving a lot of love from a lot of german beauty bloggers lately and  I think it deserves the hype.

PS : I didn't manage to take picture of the nail polish, will do a separate post later!

Pam

Magic Cream

When it comes to skin care, I am a true loyal fan of Clarins. I've been using Clarins' skin care since more than 3 years and I'm always happy with the result. There were moments when I changed my skin care to another brand and I experienced only bad things, so I always come back to Clarins.

After some research in internet through beauty blogs and makeupalley, I finally decided to get this Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. It has been receiving a lot of great reviews and I was curious to try.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm can be used both as primer or as facial mask .. If you intend to wear it as primer, the rule is to apply a really thin coat, remember ; really thin. My Clarins SA told me a lot of people apply it too thick and end up looking greasy. But if you want to use it as face mask, you can apply thicker coat, leave it for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off.

As a primer, I must say I am really impressed. It gives a nice basis before foundation and my foundation applies easier over it. It also makes my skin glowing in a healthy way even after lack of sleeping. It does instantly give a fresh transformation. It also makes my make up stay on longer. Really impressive.

As face mask, it depends on what you expect from a face mask. When you expect a deep cleansing than this is not the product for you. But if you want to refresh and relax your skin, this is perfect!! I put this on for 20 minutes and suddenly my face felt sooooooo fresh and smooth. I don't know what Clarins did with this balm but this is really a good product.

As much as I want to use it every single day, people recommend it not too because it will make your skin get used to it and it won't give much effect in the future. So I try to limit myself wearing it on the days where I need extra 'support'.

Love,
Pam

Lingerie De Peau

Among other make up products, Foundation ( or BB Cream ) is my favorite thing to review. I also love to buy foundation ( or BB Cream ) because a flawless looking face is my aim.
Foundation is also a product which I tend to spend a lot of money on. I can justify spending 40€++ on foundation because I believe we should spend most on the basis. Do you also have the same opinion?

Lingerie De Peau was an impulsive purchase ( well, 90% of my purchase are impulsive. lol ) because  I actually wanted to try the famous grey blush, Chanel Notorious but I didn't like it at all. So I moved to another beauty counter and I accidentally dropped by Guerlain counter. The SA was nice and helpful and she recommended me this foundation, so I tried it on and fell in love at the first sight.

Lingerie De Peau comes in a luxurious glass packaging. The packaging is heavy and sturdy, and def made of high quality material. It's not really travel friendly, but this is the kind of packaging you expect if you pay 40€++.  The bottle also has a pump which is another plus point.

Lingerie De Peau is a lightweight foundation that claims to give an 'invisible' flawless skin finish. I must say LDP does the job really well. The texture is liquid but not watery, it also feels really light on my skin, and I get the feeling of 'not wearing any foundation' when I use it. What impressed me the most is that it blends like a dream, no exaggerating but it blends so easy, almost effortless.

LDP gives a light to medium coverage and is buildable. It gives my skin a barely dewy and glowy, really natural effortlessly good skin. The light coverage is enough to even out my skin tone and covers some redness and imperfections. One more good thing is, this foundation has SPF 20++ but it photographs well.
This foundation is lightly scented. The scent is fresh and powdery, nothing strong or uncomfortable.
It retails for 48€ / 30ml.

I overall fall in love with this foundation and it is now my new holy grail. ;)

Pam

The Body Needs Part 2

Do you remember my The Body Needs Part 1 haul post? I ordered 5 MAC lipstick samples there and I got these 3 little goodies for free together with my MAC samples. I was surprised and happy to get these freebies , 2 of them are even a full size products ( The Body Needs also has their own make up line ) ! I can only recommend the shop!

I received 1 full size lipstick called "Karma", 1 mini jar glitter in "Chartreuse" and 1 mini jar loose eye shadow in "Blackened Teal". I actually also received a mini sample of brush cleaner, but I already used it up ;)

The Karma lipstick is a nice redish-mauve pink shade. It has a soft and creamy texture and quite a sheen finish. It feels comfortable on my lips and it doesn't feel sticky at all. The lipstick is also moisturizing so it's a friend to my easily dry lips.. The color is just my cup of tea, and I've been wearing it a lot to work lately. It stays on pretty well as it leaves stain after few hours.

The Chartreuse Glitter is a yellowish green glitter pigment. I am not a fan of wearing glitters or pigment on my eyes so I haven't tried this on.. I don't have a lot to say about it. The hand swatch didn't really convince me , though the glitters are fine and not chunky.

The Blackened Teal is a deep blackened teal loose eye shadow that leans more to black than to teal in my opinion. According to The Body Needs website, it's supposed to be a dupe from MAC Deep Blue Green. I have once used it on my eyes to create a smokey look and it worked really well. The pigmentation is amazing and the eye shadow is finely milled, feels so soft against my lids. Only I am not a fan of loose eye shadows. I find them a bit too much hassles esp in the morning

Here is my picture wearing the Karma lipstick
