Prom Princess

I was still in Jakarta when The Archie's Girls collection from MAC first launched in Germany. I had a little bit of panic that maybe I couldn't get the blush and the pencil eye linerI've been eyeing for some time. I wanted to ask my boyfriend to get it for me ( but my boyfriend refused to go to MAC counter for a blush #cry), but since I already hauled so much make up on my holiday, I thought maybe I didn't need another blush or pencil eye liner, especially when the most thing that made me want them, was the packaging.

But, destiny led me to another story.

On my 2nd day back to Berlin, I had to go to work already, since my shift was early, I decided to take a look at MAC Counter on the ground floor ( I work part time at a dept.store ), found that the display was still there and swatched the 2 blushes available, and I liked Prom Princess the most. 

( The pencil eye liner was sold out but I managed to get it from another MAC counter in Berlin, review coming soon )

The SA told me there was only 1 Prom Princess left and I was lucky because if I came like an hour later, it might as well sold out. Destiny, I'd say?

Prom Princess comes in a really cute packaging. It is typical MAC round blush case, but the color is white instead of black and it has Veronica printed on it. Super cute!

Prom Princess is a bright fuschia-pink with a hint of blue undertone. It gives a sheen satin finish that transforms into a nice glowing flushed on the cheeks. It has sheer to medium pigmentation so you don't need to be really light handed on application.

The staying power is average for MAC blush but the powder is unfortunately not finely milled. I experienced a lot of fallouts , and the texture is also not as smooth as I expected from MAC blushes.

As I am in general a fan of MAC blushes, Prom Princess isn't the best MAC could offer. The color pay off is nice, and the shade is flattering but easily dupable. The application is dusty and a bit messy but I like how it looks on my cheeks. So, I don't regret the purchase, because of the cute packaging.

I Follow The Trend

I bought some Revlon nail enamels on my recent trip to Jakarta and one of them is ; the famous Whimsical.

Whimsical is a beautiful, gorgeous nail polish. It is indeed really sheer, but it is beautiful to be layered over some pastel nail polishes. 

And here I combined Essie Mint Candy Apple and Revlon Whimsical together and they look like they are meant to be together.

Revlon Whimsical took quite amount of time to dry on its own, or even mit combination with Sally Hansen Insta Dry. But if I top it with Essence Better Than Gel Nail top coat, it took me only 5 minutes for it to completely dry.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation

On my recent trip to Jakarta , I bought this Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation. Revlon isn't available in Germany so I didn't think much before buying this foundation due to a lot of good reviews I have heard / read from fellow beauty bloggers and youtubers.

My shade is #240 Natural beige. It's a 2nd lighter shade available in Jakarta. If I'm not mistaken, there are only 4 shades available there and my shade is 1 shade darker after Ivory.

To be honest, I am not really a fan of Revlon foundations. I have tried the famous Colorstay and the Photo Ready foundations and none of them I like much. The Colorstay is fine, but I hate the Photo Ready foundation. So it is a bit of gambling for me to buy this one, just out of curiousity and good reviews from fellow bloggers. But I couldn't resist so I picked it up for Rp.177.000,- ( approx. 19-20 USD ).

The foundation comes in a glass pot which looks expensive and luxurious. The glass itself is heavy and thick and well made. But I don't think it will be travel friendly and also not the most hygienic since we have to dip our fingers to take some products.

The consistency I'd say is something between cream and mousse. It feels a bit thick at the beginning but once it's well blended, it feels lightweight and it also feels comfortable on the skin.

The coverage is light but it is buildable. It evens out my complexion and also brightens it up. It covers up my redness and hyper pigmentations well, but I still need concealer for my under eye area and few dark spots. 

The staying power and oil control are okay. I had this on for 7-8 hours before I need to blot my T-zone with powder. The foundation has a subtle fresh scent.

I overall pretty surprise with the result. I didn't have high expectations on this foundation , but it performs really well. I love how it covers up just enough imperfections without making my face look dull or cakey and how it feels so lightweight on my face. For the price I paid, I'm really happy with this foundation.

My Asia Trip Photos and Haul

I have just come back from my Asia trip back home to Jakarta and Singapore.  And as you can predict, most of the stuffs I got, are all beauty related. ;P

I also bought some clothing, shoes, bags, etc etc but I will not show them here, since it's a bit too much stuffs and too random. lol

Yes I know I went a bit over the border with make up haul, but I really couldn't resist. A lot of drugstore brands like Maybelline, Revlon, Bourjois are cheaper in Jakarta, to make it even better, they often have discount to. I managed to get a lot of Maybelline stuffs at 35% off!! even without the discount, they are already 30-50% cheaper than here in Germany..

But unfortunately, the same thing didn't apply to asian brand make up, like Koji, Majolica Majorca, Peripera, Etude House, Skin Food, etc etc because I find them waaaaaay more expensive than Ebay. So I didn't get a lot of japanese/korean brands because I'd rather order them from Ebay.

Now that I am back in Berlin, I miss home every single day and can't wait for my next trip, hopefully I will not have to say goodbye to family and friends again on my next trip back home.

Fresh Berry

On my trip to Jakarta and Singapore I realized that Maybelline range of products are different in Asia and Europe, even between Singapore and Jakarta, the product range is different. So I bought some nice products from Maybelline in Jakarta, and this bright fuschia blush is one of them.

The packaging is sooo simple but practical. The case doesn't have a mirror nor a mini brush, only a small round pan with a clear transparant lid. The case is made of plastic, but it feels quite sturdy.

Fresh Berry is a bright matte fuschia which looks scary on the pan , but you can definitely sheer it down. Texture wise,  the powder feels smooth and finely milled and fallout is minimal. The pigmentation is amazing as you can see on heavy swatch above, but if you apply it light-handed, it will give you a really nice pink flush.

I applied it a bit heavy to give you a better look of the color ;)

I overall love this color and also the texture of the blush. For the price ; IDR 45.000 ( ca. 3-4€ ), I think it is a really nice product even though the shade is easily dupable.
