Sensuous Burgundy

I have been into burgundy-plumy eye shadows lately and all of my brown-ish eye shadows are now abandoned ( only for awhile, of course! ;p ). When I visited KIKO store near me,I found this eye shadow quad on sale for 30% off. So I couldn't resist because the color selection is so 'my-current-favorite'!

I love the limited edition packaging from Kiko.. They put a lot of effort on the packaging and the case is made from a nice plastic material that isn't flimsy at all. It also comes with a pouch, just like all those high end brands..

Sensuous Burgundy comes with 4 shades, a plum burgundy with iridescent finish, a peachy gold with shimmery finish, a matte peach and a matte plum brown. The color selection is really good and matches the name, imho. The texture is smooth and buttery, and the fallout is minimal. They are easy to blend and apply smoothly. The pigmentation is great as well as the staying power.

FOTD

I am overall happy with this quad and I think I'll come back to the store and see if they have another color selection since I am really satisfied with this one.

Do you also like burgundy eye shadow? What is your fave?

Pam

Winter Rose

Alverde is a drugstore brand that usually doesn't catch my attention. But recently, Alverde is having a limited edition with some cream blushes, cream eye shadows and lipsticks.. The cream blushes have been praised a lot around beauty bloggers here in Germany. As a blush junkie, of course I hunted for the blush and so happy that I found it.. ( wenn a limited drugstore product being hyped so much, it is usually almost impossible to get.. )

One of few reasons why Alverde doesn't catch my attention is mainly because the unattractive packaging. It is made of plastic with simple Alverde logo on the lid.
But this time I had to ignore the unappetizing look from the packaging because what's inside is important, yes?

Winter Rose ( what a beautiful name! ) is a typical me matte pinkish red. The pigmentation is great as you can see on the swatch above, but it gets more to the sheer side once applied on the cheeks.. The texture is creamy but in no way greasy. I love that it gives such a natural flush and it is really really natural. I love the finish so much because it looks like my cheeks are naturally rosy!
Like most cream blushes, this one has long staying power too and I like to wear it alone without layering it with powder blush because the glowy effect is beautiful.

PS : Winter rose retails for 3,49€.

and oh btw, I made another personal blog for my overload random thoughts ;) here

H&M Duo Eye Shadow

I don't know if it's the same world wide, but H&M in Germany sells cosmetics too including eye shadow, blush, nail polish, lip gloss, lipstick, brush tools, etc etc. I remember once I had a blush from H&M and I liked it. So when I visited my local H&M , they were having sale on the make up products and I grabbed some!

I picked up these 2 duo eye shadow because ; 1st- I love the design and the pattern on the eye shadows, and 2nd- the shades are right up my ally, 3rd -  they are on sale for 1€ each!

The duos come in a clear acrylic case which is for the price, really really nice. The case is study, durable and well made.

I didn't have high expectation on these duos but they are surprisingly good. The texture is smooth and buttery it feels almost creamy. The pigmentation is good as well, as you can see on the swatches above. I didn't experience any major fallout either, and they are easy to apply and easy to blend, I am really impressed.

For 1€ each, I definitely think these duos are worth the money !

Essence Stay With Me Lip Gloss

I was cleaning my vanity few days ago and stumbled upon my lip gloss stack. I don't own many lip glosses compare to blushes or lipsticks for example, because I am not really a fan of the formula of most lip glosses. But among the few lip glosses that I have, this Stay With Me line from Essence is my favorite. I think I have once reviewed some of these on my blog post before,  but the quality was just really bad, so here I do it once again + some new shades.

From left - right : #My favorite milkshake, #Me&My Ice cream, #I like cotton candy, #Berry Me, #Kiss kiss kiss

#02 - My Favorite Milkshake

#01 - Me and My Ice Cream

#05 - I like Cotton Candy

#06 - Berry Me

#07 - Kiss Kiss Kiss

Stay With Me lip glosses come in a clear acrylic tube with doe foot applicator which I like more than brush applicator because I think it makes the application easier.
The formula is nice and not sticky even though the consistency is a bit thick and balm-y and it feels comfortable on my lips. They are also really smooth and moisturizing . The pigmentation is pretty good for lip gloss and it's buildable too. For darker shades like #05,#06 and #07 the intensity can be built up to almost opaque.
One thing I like the most is none of these glosses is shimmery or contain any glitter particles. They are matte, with glossy finish ( I hope that makes sense ). The staying power is also good, I usually get 3-4 hour wear and even more for darker colors.

These lip glosses retail for 1,49€ / 4ml of product.

Korres Magnolia Toning Body Mist

Do you know the feeling to shop after work? Like you feel you deserve to be pampered with little things to buy after working the whole day? I really can't say no to shopping after work, mainly because I work in a boutique that is located inside a luxurious department store. I basically have to walk pass entire floor of beauty and perfume section every single day after work and sometimes I just can't help to stop and try on some little things. *sigh*

So, I actually wanted to get new Korres lip butter in pomegranate because I ran out of mine, but it was sold out, and because the Korres SA was so lovely, she showed me some products and predictably I picked up one!

Magnolia Toning Body Mist is a refreshing body mist from Korres which comes in a slim tube. It's really convenience to be carried inside my every day bag. It is cooling and refreshing and it has subtle floral scent. The scent surprisingly stays on really well, for a body mist.

And the lovely SA gave me a full size mono eye shadow as a freebie! She was so nice and really helpful too!

I have never tried Korres make up line, though I've heard a lot of good things about it. This mono eye shadow comes in a white plastic case which is well made and doesn't feel cheap nor plasticky. I got mine in color #225 - Orange. Even though the name is orange, I'd say the color leans more to apricot with golden shimmer. The texture is so smooth and buttery it almost feels like cream eye shadow! and I didn't experience any fallout either. The color is really wearable because once applied, it is more a yellowish gold rather than orange and it has sheen to shimmery finish. It also stays on really well over a primer.

Here is the look I did using the eye shadow :

Have you tried the fragrance and make up line from Korres? and how do you like the look I created?
