BEST OF 2012

I know I know this post is super late. But I didn't get much time during the year end so here is my delayed 2012 best post! ( inspired by lovely sleepandwater ! )

FACE

  • Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #21. Still my holy grail BB Cream.
  • Guerlain Lingerie De Peau #Rose Clair. I discovered this later in October but I have literally been wearing this foundation every single day after that. Definitely worth the price.
  • Maybelline FIT ME Concealer #15 . The only one concealer that I have now in my vanity and I simply love it.
  • Tony Moly Dear Me Pure Cotton BB Cream. The perfect BB Cream for sheer coverage. It is my 2nd best after Missha Perfect Cover.
  • Essence Fix & Matte Translucent Fixing Powder. It's affordable and it does its job really well. The loose powder consistency isn't convenience for on the way touch up, but I love to apply it after I did my make up because it makes my face staying matte for good couple hours.
  • Paul&Joe Duo Compact Powder and Highlighter . A great powder to give my skin a nice radiant glow.
During 2012 I found my love to asian BB Creams. I totally abandoned foundation until I picked up Guerlain Lingerie De Peau because it brings back my love to lightweight foundation.

EYES

  • MUA Undressed Eye Shadow Palette . I think I don't have to say much about this palette as I have already talked about it like in every single blog post.
  • Wet n Wild Trio Eye Shadow Knock on The Wood . I've been loving plum-burgundy eye shadow this year and the eyelid color from this trio is one of my favorite.
  • Urban Decay NAKED 2 . I also don't have to say much about this as almost all of you also feel the same about this palette. A brilliant color selection, nice texture, great quality.
I think 2012 was the year of neutral earthy tone ( + plum-burgundy) eye shadows. I didn't go crazy with bright colors when it comes to eye make up. So any eye shadow palette that carried nice range of neutral shades was my favorite in 2012.

  • Benefit They're Real Mascara . I know that I've just recently bought this mascara, but I've been wearing it ever since so I think it deserves to be on the list.
  • Max Factor 2000 Calories Mascara . A really good mascara for drugstore price.
  • Duo Eye Lash Glue. I have tried several eye lash glues but always find myself go back to this one from Duo.
  • Primark Sultry False Eye Lashes. I think this false eye lashes deserve to be on the list. I wear false lashes really often and this pair from Primark is surprisingly really really good. They look natural, and perfect for every day use.
  • L'Oreal Infaillible in Sahara Treasure. I love the texture, I love the color, definitely a staple.
  • Essence Pencil Eye Liner in Black . It doesn't smudge on my water line and it's soft enough too.
  • Essence Gel Eye Liner in Black . My favorite gel eye liner. It's jet black it's creamy and it has a great staying power.
  • Shu Uemura Eye Lash Curler . This is the only lash curler that doesn't pinch my lids. And it gives my pathetic lashes a bit of a curl.
In 2012 I also worn false lashes a lot. It was the year where I really got into make up and finally brave enough to wear false lashes on daily basis. I was too afraid before but now I feel naked without false lashes .

CHEEK

  • P2 What's Up Beach Babe Bronzer. As you can see on the picture above, I hit the pan already and it doesn't happen often. I am sad that this one is limited. Hopefully P2 will soon bring it back to the permanent range.
  • MAC Blush in Desert Rose. Almost on every special occasion when I know that I need my blush to stay for the whole day, I always grab this one from MAC. It's a beautiful matte pinkish dusty red shade that gives my cheeks a nice flushed and stay on for the whole day.
  • Burberry Light Glow Cameo Blush . This is a staple in my on the go make up bag. Love the natural dusty rose shade that matches every occasion.
  • Essence Limited Edition Breaking Dawn in Renesmee Red. A bright matte red blush that looks scary on the pan but looks beautiful on the cheeks. I think I found my love to red blushes this year.
  • Rival de Loop Secret Love Highlighter. A really subtle highlighter that doesn't make my oily face looks like disco ball and it doesn't contain any glitters.

LIPS

As you can see, red lippies ( either bright red, or dark vampy red )dominates my list. I've been into red lips this year and I think my obsession with red lips will go on..

Love,
Pam

My Hair Care Routine

Some of you have been asking how I take care of my hair. To be honest, I always think that I go low maintenance when it comes to hair care ( I meant, compare to skin care, make up etc etc ). But as I took pictures of my hair care routine while doing this post, I realized that actually my hair care isn't that low maintenance as I thought . -___-

Washing and conditioning :
  • LUSH I love Juicy Shampoo : This shampoo from LUSH is my absolute favorite! I have oily scalp and dry split ends. My scalp usually gets greasy so fast and no shampoo is good enough to make my scalp less oily until I found this magic shampoo. It cleans my hair and scalp soooo good but it doesn't make it dry. It also smells so good. Love.
  • LUSH American Cream Conditioner : It took me quite awhile before I started to like this conditioner. At first, I thought this conditioner was just okay. It wasn't rich enough for my dry ends, and I didn't really notice any effect. But after awhile, I started to notice that my split ends looked much much better. I do curl and blow dry my hair a lot, so it's a must for me to take a good care of my ends because they get dry easily. I am still not 100% sold on this conditioner, I might try another conditioners just to find something better, but this one is doing its job well. Oh and I also don't really like the scent, it smells like a dull/dusty vanilla ( if that makes sense :p )
  • L'Oreal Elvital Color Shine Spray / Leave In conditioner : I sprayed this conditioner before I blow dry my hair. It makes my hair easier to comb and feels smoother, but I don't think it's a groundbreaking product even though for the price, it's definitely fine. I won't repurchase it once I finished this one.
  • KMS California Free Shape Quick Blow Dry : This is my absolute holy grail in my hair cair routine. It's really a live saver. Having a long thick hair, ( my hair goes down to my waist ) it takes my hair FOREVER to dry , but with this magic spray, it dries really quick and also it gives my hair a nice healthy shine! It also smells divine!
  • Bamboo Luminous Shine Mist : This is a sample size I got in my previous Douglas beauty box and I've been loving it so far. I usually spray it as a final touch if I curl my hair and it gives my hair a nice shine. Would I repurchase it? I'm not sure, because I think my KMS California already gives enough shine to my hair. But I'll definitely use this up.
  • Clarins Lotus Face Oil for Oily skin : I know this one is out of place, but I got a lot of samples of this oil and I thought, why not trying it on my hair? So once in a week, I apply this to my ends and voila! Bye bye split ends and hello silky hair!! I think it works just the same like the other hair oils, but this one is really rich so I only apply it at night and wash my hair the next morning.
  • Schwartzkopf Got2B Heat Protector : This is my 2nd bottle and I always spray it before I use hot tools . I love the smell and I think it does the job well.
  • Nivea Styling Spray Volume Sensation : First of all, the smell of this hair spray is amazing.. I sometimes spray it only because of the scent. lol. It is basically a hair spray but it's flexible and perfect for styling.
  • Wellaflex Hair Spray : My fave hair spray to hold my curl. Once again, I love the scent and so far I 'm happy with the performance and will repurchase it once I finish this one.
My natural straight hair, blow dry

My curl hair using curling iron

A bit of my hair's facts :

  • Hair type : Oily scalp, dry ends
  • Natural hair color : Black
  • Current hair color : Dark brown with reddish undertone ( I use L'oreal Sublime Mousse #400 in Reines Braun ) I touch up the color every 6 week .
  • For the last 3 years I live in Germany, I always cut / trim my hair by myself. Mainly because I haven't yet found hair stylist I can trust to take care of my hair ( read : I am control freak :p) . When I was in Indonesia, I usually got my hair cut in Tony & Guy Hair Salon.
Have a nice weekend,everyone!!

Pam

Burberry Light Glow Blossom Blush

I'm sorry to be reviewing a lot of Burberry lately because I just recently received some Burberry goodies as Christmas gift from a lovely friend.. ( yes, I know I am lucky! :))

As usual, the packaging from Burberry is no compromise a luxury. The design and the material are well made and even the mini brush given is soft and surprisingly useful :D and who can say no to this beautiful embossed blush?

Blossom is a orangey-coral shade with a slight hint of pink. The finish is natural , more of matte finish but with a little bit of sheen. It looks more on the orange side once applied, but it's not too orange that it's not wearable. It gives a really nice healthy glow and stays on really well.
The pigmentation is great , but not in any way over the top,  so you don't have to be extremely careful with application and you can build up the intensity too.
The texture is silky and smooth and the fallout is minimal.

I am so far really happy with all my Burberry blushes ( not that I have a lot, only 2 ;p ) and I'll definitely buy some more shades in the future. The Earth blush is on the top of my wish list now. ;)

Have you tried any Burberry blush? What is your favorite high end blush?
Love,
Pam

December Favorites!

Hellooooo guys!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
How was your 2012? Mine was great! I think I learned a lot of new things, and almost all of my 2012's resolutions are achieved!! ( I still failed to lose some weight, though! :p )

By the way, these are the products I've been loving in December ( I was planning to do 2012 best and worst but due to lack of time, the post might be delayed ), I discovered some new products that became my holy grails :

  • LUSH I Love Juicy Shampoo : Do you remember my LUSH Haul post ? There on the post I haven't given my review on this shampoo. After a month of using it, I can only say : "I love it!!!". I have oily scalp and dry split ends, and I have problem that no matter how often I wash my hair, my scalp gets oily after only few hours. But after using this shampoo, my scalp doesn't get oily even the next day after washing my hair and it doesn't dry my ends too! The smell is also heavenly!!! Love love love! and I have already bought the 500ml bottle :D
  • Burberry Light Glow Cameo Blush : It's my go-to blush. I always have this blush on my make up bag that I carry almost everywhere I go.
  • Benefit They're Real Mascara : This is definitely my new holy grail mascara!! I love it sooooooooo much that I don't wear false lashes every single day now.
  • Korres Lip Butter Stick in Rose : As you might have known, I really like my Korres Lip butter in pot form, but it annoys me to always dipping my finger inside the pot. So when I found this lip butter in stick form I am sold. Love it so much.
  • Clarins Pore Minimizing Serum : I apply this serum every morning before I apply my daily moisturizer. It minimizes my pores and also gives my skin a radiant base before applying make up and I noticed that my skin gets less oily after I used this serum.
  • OPI Nail Polish in Skyfall : Skyfall is a dark oxblood shade that is just perfect for winter. :D
  • Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir : I used up this bottle already and I'll buy another one soon because I love the scent for the colder months. The 50ml bottle is small and thin so it's convenience to be carried inside my bag. Topnotes : Jasmine, Rose, Rose oil , black pepper. Heart notes : creme noir accord, spiced lily, melted wood nature prints . Base notes : amber, honey, vanilla.
Soooo , that's all products that I've been loving so much this month and I wish you a wonderful amazing exciting successful new year!!!

Love,
Pam
