Let's Fly with Uslu Airlines

Are you familiar with the brand ; Uslu Airlines? According to their website, Uslu Airlines is a Berlin based luxury cosmetics brand, created by Turkish MUA Feride Uslu and German entrepreneurial master mind Jan Mimh in 2003.

I didn't own any of Uslu Airlines' products until a friend of mine, the lovely Miss Valerie Ox ( pls check her website. She makes cool outfits! ), gave me this Uslu Airlines Collaboration lipstick with KMB-Berlin ( a fashion PR company ). 

The lipstick comes in a box that doesn't look like a lipstick box ( I know, confusing, right? ). lol. It's so Berlin in a way that the first thought when I saw the box was ; Oh my God this is the real Berlin's brand!

The lipstick looks really bright blue toned red on the bullet, but once swatched, it leans more to orange. I was hoping this lipstick leans more to red, because I've been wanting a new bold red lipstick and I don't really fancy wearing orange lipstick.

On my lips, this lipstick does lean more to orange, but not as orange as I thought it would be. It's just a red lipstick with orange undertone. It has sheen finish, and def not matte. The lipstick has a nice texture and easy to apply. The pigmentation is also great and it stays for a good 4 hours before requiring touch up. The lipstick has the smell of 'old fashioned' lipstick ( if you know what I meant ) but the smell doesn't linger on so I could careless.
The texture is nice. It's not too hard or too creamy . It applies easily even without lip brush or lip liner. Quality wise, this is a good lipstick , but I don't think I would spend more than 20€ for it. ( Uslu Airlines' lipsticks usually range from 22€ above ).
This is not a color I would reach for often in winter, but I'll def reach for it more in summer time!

The Paris Collection

I really have problem with a product that has a 'limited edition' label on it, even though I am 100% aware that I don't need the product. Catrice is having a limited edition at the moment, this LE was released last year and was a big success, so Catrice repeated this LE this year consists of  new 3 different eye shadow palettes, 3 mascaras and 3 nail polishes ( See the nail polish review, HERE ).

After long ( believe me, it was really long :p ) consideration, I finally took only 1 palette. I took the Paris one. The packaging is def the same like the LE from last year and packaging wise, the Paris palette I took, looks 99% the same from the Berlin Palette I have from last year.

The Paris palette consists of 6 eye shadows ( all shimmery ), 2 blushes , 1 black pencil eye liner and 1 applicator.

COMPARISON

PARIS PALETTE

All the shadows on Paris palette are shimmery and frosty. The pigmentations are a little bit weak esp on lighter shades. I find they are best applied using my finger, because they crumble and crease a lot when applied using eye shadow brush. The texture of all eye shadows are smooth and buttery. I find the color selection is nice, only I wish for at least 1-2 matte shades.

Both of the blushes are total flop. Too much glitters and weak in pigmentation. The textures are also rough and dusty, I didn't even bother to apply them on my cheeks .

BERLIN PALETTE

As a comparison, the Berlin Palette is way better in quality. The eye shadows are greatly pigmented, soft and  not dusty, also applied smoothly with finger or eye shadow brush. The color selection is also slightly better than the Paris palette.

Even the blushes on Berlin palette are better than the duo from Paris palette. 

Overall, I prefer the Berlin Palette better than the Paris palette. Paris is 1€ more expensive than Berlin, but the quality is not even better. If you haven't had the Berlin Palette from last year, Paris palette won't be a total flop, but it's not a must have either.

PS : As you can see, I changed my header but it turned out a bit too small. Does any of you know the perfect image size for header? Or do you know if there's a website with good blogger's header templates?

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Foundation

I got a mini version of Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in my October's Douglas Box and I am so happy to try this on, esp because they gave a 5ml sample which is a decent amount.

It comes in the exact same packaging and bottle like the full size version, only this one is smaller. It is so cute and thoughtful, that they put so much effort on a sample.The mini bottle even hat a pump too. Love the packaging.

Here is the comparison of how small the bottle is. It's the size of MAC lipstick bullet.

On my hand it looks a little bit orange and my first thought was  ; Oh no, it's not going to work. But then as I applied it on my face, I could barely notice the orange ( or could be just too yellow ) undertone.

As you can see on the before - after picture above, my main problem is redness. That's why I don't really fancy sheer coverage foundation, and usually go for medium or full coverage foundation. Hello Flawless has buildable sheer to medium coverage. It evens out my skin pretty good, and also covers my imperfections nicely. It also brightens up my complexion.

The texture of the foundation is watery and it dries pretty quick, so you have to apply it as soon as you pump the foundation out of the bottle. 

My main problem with this foundation is that it makes my oily skin even more oily. I did apply powder on the top of it but it didn't stay matte for more than 2 hours. It gets greasy so fast and also it darkens after few hours. I also noticed that it tends to clog my pores and melts a little bit, so I don't think this foundation is good for warm weather.

But one good thing is, this foundation has SPF 25++ and you know that SPF is soooo important,girls!

Overall, I am happy that I got to try the sample first, because I'd be dissapointed if I bought the fullsize version, especially for the hefty 35€ pricetag. I wouldn't recommend this to people with oily skin, but I'm sure it would work nicely on people with dry or normal skin.

October Faves!

Hello guys!! How was your October going? Mine was hectic but nice.. Since autumn is my fave season, October was one of the prettiest month in the entire year, IMO esp here in Berlin. The view of fallen maple leaves, the breezy wind and those fashionable green parkas never fails to make me happy..

Now the temperature is going down so quick it's even already snowing in some parts of Germany. We , in Berlin have more time to enjoy the winter though those parkas are no longer wearable unless you want to be frozen. lol

Make up wise, I didn't really buy much in October.. I started to save little by little for Christmas. So I basically dug out my make up stacks and re discovered some products I haven't given enough attention.

Enough blabbering, here are the products I've been loving in October ;


Please bear with bad lighting pictures. It's early winter now in Germany and the sun shines only until 4pm then it gets dark T____T

1. Shu Uemura Eye Shadow Palette - I got this palette from a giveaway and wasn't really keen of the color selection. But then I started to like the brown and purple ones more and more. The brown one is powder form and purple one is cream form. They are so easy to use and can be worn alone.
2. Clarins Everlasting Compact Foundation - My must have go to mattifying foundation. I always apply this over my BB cream so it mattifies my face. It evens out my complexion and stays on for a long time. I find it best when applied with flat top kabuki.
3. Burberry Blush in Cameo - This was a total impulsive purchase ( as always . :p ) but I didn't regret it since it's a beautiful product. The color isn't something extra ordinary but really versatile for everyday use.
4. Maybelline FIT ME Concealer - I'm not a concealer person but when I need to apply concealer, I always reach for this. The coverage is good and it does its job really well.
5. Shiseido Lip Lacquer in 305 - A perfect everyday nude-pink lip color. It's not too pale nude but also not too Barbie pink. The finish is creamy matte, so it's not overdone glossy.
6. Kryolan Eye Brow Powder in Brown - The only eye brow powder I have, because I am simply happy with it and don't feel any urge to buy another one.
7. Essence Class of 2013 Translucent Powder - Don't let the name fools you because the powder is actually not translucent. I use it as matte highlighter under my eye area. It also sets my concealer well and brightens up the area nicely.
